In order to reduce the mental effort needed to make decisions, the human brain instinctively takes shortcuts. It generalizes data to form a mental map of the world, and then it resits altering or stepping outside that map (Science Magazine). This is a problem for organizations that require creative thinking. We’ve finally reached an awareness that successful and happy organizations invest in diversity training. However, according to the Harvard Business Review, not all diversity training is effective.
