Psychotherapist (lic #88839)

Education

I graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a double major in psychology and communication studies. After college, I earned a J.D. with honors from the UCLA School of Law and practiced as an entertainment and intellectual property attorney for four years. Feeling a pull back to my true calling, I went back to graduate school and completed a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology at the Pacifica Graduate Institute.

Training

I've been fortunate to develop my skills in a variety of clinical and academic settings. I've worked in private practice, drug rehab facilities, and community mental health centers. I staffed the human sexuality lab at Northwestern University and the Journal of Sexuality and the Law while in law school. I have 2 years of training in the Hakomi Method, which is a mindfulness-based, mind/body method for working with trauma.

Counseling Approach

Together, we will explore your inner world and help unravel beliefs, defenses, and patterns that no longer serve you.  Because every client is different, my model for treatment varies based on each person's needs and goals.  However, I have great faith and understanding in a variety of therapeutic models such as psychodynamic, relationaldepth oriented, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapies.
